Description
Height: 0.3 to 0.8 metres
Dark-green foliage held well out from the stems makes this very hardy dwarf bamboo instantly recognisable. The slightly hairy, narrow leaves may be up to 18 centimetres long. Like many of the Pleioblastus clan, this little Japanese native loves to spread itself lavishly around, making it very useful for groundcover and soil stabilisation in most conditions. If grown in the company of other plants, we recommend keeping a strict eye on its conduct, or incorporating a rhizome barrier at the time of planting
