![]() Fargesia murieliae 'Simba' Height: 1.5 to 2 metres 'Simba' is a new variety of Fargesia murieliae, propagated from one of the seedlings that arose after the species first flowered in 1976 in Thyme Nurseries in Sjµlland, near Copenhagen, Denmark. 'Simba', which was introduced to the trade in 1988, has a more dwarf habit than the species. The soft leaves are a fresh apple-green colour and are borne on tightly-packed green culms that curve gently towards the ground. It may be grown on its own, with other plants or as a screen. 'Simba' also makes a wonderful potted specimen, providing it is kept watered and is grown in a sheltered position.
