Common Names: Green Sulcus Bamboo, Spectabilis

"Spectabilis" means spectacular or showy, and there's no doubt that this is one of the loveliest hardy bamboos. The culms are a warm yellow, streaked with green. In spring a crimson blush spreads up from the nodes if exposed to sun. Grow as a specimen plant or a screen. We often trim off the lower branches to show off the superb culms.
